🌿 Important Announcement from the Lake Royale Community Garden 🌿
We are excited to share that the Lake Royale Community Garden is currently in transition from traditional vegetable plots to a pollinator-friendly garden sanctuary! This new direction reflects our commitment to protecting local wildlife, especially pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds that are essential to the health of our ecosystems.
As development and frequent mowing continue to reduce natural habitats, it is more important than ever to create welcoming spaces for these vital species. Many plants that are often mistaken for weeds are actually beneficial native species—providing food, shelter, and breeding grounds for pollinators and other wildlife. These seemingly small plants play a big role in the survival of many creatures.
Over the coming weeks and months, our garden will be under construction as we begin to implement new paths, seating areas, native plantings, and features like birdbaths and butterfly host zones. This will become a peaceful, educational, and sustainable sanctuary for our entire community to enjoy.
We welcome all neighbors to get involved—whether you want to lend a hand, share ideas, or simply watch the transformation unfold. Together, we are creating a space that supports nature and nurtures community.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we bring this vision to life.
